At the Tate

"Capturing the Moment // The Yageo Foundation Collection

Our fellow members Jasmine and Pierre Chen recently invited us to London on the occasion of an exhibition at the Tate Modern featuring works from their collection. The director of the museum, Frances Morris, made a point of honouring Pierre for his work as an important supporter of the institution and thanking him for his generosity in lending these works, many of them long-term. She further thanked Jasmine for her help in coordinating with the curators of the Tate and helping the exhibition to come to fruition.

Entitled "Capturing the Moment", the exhibition explores the relationship between contemporary painting and photography and features renowned artists who have used the brush and the lens to capture moments in time. The exhibition showcases works from the Chen’s Yageo Foundation Collection, including pieces by Francis Bacon, Gerhard Richter, Peter Doig, Thomas Struth, Andreas Gursky, and Hiroshi Sugimoto, each presented alongside recent additions to Tate's own collection.
